Galaxy Arises from the Ashes

Six months after filing a prepackaged Chapter 11 bankruptcy, Galaxy
Telecom has emerged with a new name, new owners and a new management team.

The MSO's 100,000 subscribers are now controlled by Anchor Pacific, an
Austin, Texas-based firm that specializes in distressed cable properties.

Anchor also controls the 15,000 multiple-dwelling units owned by the former
OpTel Inc., which was renamed TVMax after it emerged from bankruptcy.

Cable veteran Ron Dorchester, CEO of Anchor Pacific, is now managing both
TVMax and Galaxy, now known as Galaxy Cable.

To manage the company, Dorchester -- a former Prime Cable executive --
brought on another Prime veteran, William Chain, and former Galaxy Telecom vice
president Larry Eby.

Galaxy will focus on rolling out digital via WSNet Inc. technology in several
markets this year, Dorchester said.
