Boston -- Game Show Network announced at the Cable & Telecommunications
Association for Marketing's CTAM Summit here Monday a portable unit that allows
replication of real game-show playing at any location.

Dubbed 'Game Show in a Box,' GSN's marketing department created the unit. It
features two player desks, a host podium, sound effects and a buzzer.

The unit will also be used to shoot original short-form programming and event
promotions for the network, senior vice president of marketing Dena Kaplan
said.

'The portability also allows us to take advantage of interesting surroundings
and local residents,' GSN VP and creative director Ken Warun pointed out.

The concept will enable GSN to produce games 'that capture the true spirit
and history specific to that geographic location,' Kaplan said. It also provides
new opportunities for localized co-branded games with GSN affiliates, she
added.

During the CTAM Summit, for example, Game Show in a Box will be launched at
such Boston landmarks as Fenway Park, Harvard Square, Boston Common and Faneuil
Hall.
