General Bandwidth Inc. is expanding overseas.
The voice-over-Internet-protocol-equipment manufacturer said it will expand its Europe; Middle East, and Africa (EMEA); Caribbean and Latin America (CALA); and Asia-Pacific presence.
As part of the initiative, the company named Hari Haran vice president of international sales. Haran had been VP and general manager of the EMEA regions at Lucent Technologies.
“VoIP deployments in many of the EMEA, CALA and Asia-Pacific regions are outpacing VoIP deployments in North America," CEO Charles Vogt said in a prepared statement. “As a leader in carrier-class VoIP-infrastructure solutions in North America, expanding to regions worldwide is a natural next step for General Bandwidth."
