Sony Pictures Television’s retro TV channel getTV signed a distribution agreement with Media General Inc. for both over-the-air and local cable carriage in 20 new markets, Sony said. Media General will begin rolling out getTV beginning today (Feb. 1) and the Media General affiliates will elevate getTV to local deals in place in 87 markets, 47 of which are in the top 50 DMAs, including new adds in Indianapolis, Grand Rapids and Harrisburg, per Sony.
getTV in December also obtained national distribution via Dish Network. That agreement also included carriage for Cine Sony and renewed carriage for Sony Movie Channel (see story).
The Media General agreement includes carriage on the following stations: KRON in San Francisco, CA; KOIN in Portland, OR; WISH in Indianapolis, IN; WYCW in Spartanburg, SC; WOTV in Grand Rapids, MI; WAVY in Norfolk, VA; WHTM in Harrisburg, PA; KRQE in Albuquerque, NM; WPRI in Providence, RI; WRIC in Richmond, VA; WTEN in Albany, NY; WATE in Knoxville, TN; KHON in Honolulu, HI; WSLS in Roanoke, VA; WNCT in Greenville, NC; WLNS in Lansing, MI; WYFX in Youngstown, OH; KLFY in Lafayette, LA; KTKA in Topeka, KS and WLFI in Lafayette, IN.
