Global Eagle to Distribute Mayweather-Pacquiao Match to Cruise Lines

Fight fans that just happen to find themselves in international waters on May 2 will still be able to catch the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, thanks to Global Eagle Entertainment’s maritime division, GEE Maritime.

Global Eagle Entertainment, a media and connectivity provider to the travel industry, said its Maritime business group, GEE Maritime, will exclusively distribute the upcoming Floyd Mayweather, Jr. vs Manny Pacquiao boxing match to cruise lines worldwide.

GEE Maritime will distribute the event to the Maritime market via MTN Communications satellite network.

"We're excited to distribute this live event exclusively to cruise line passengers, providing them with a live broadcast of one of the most anticipated boxing matches this decade," said Global Eagle SVP of Content Purchasing and Distribution Jim Griffiths in a statement. "GEE prides itself on new and differentiated content for the travel industry and acquiring the rights to this event highlights our ability to bring live sporting events and other programming we can bring to the market."
