GMC has greenlit a new reality series centering on real-life marriage proposals.
The series, Engagement Story, follows everyday men who are planning surprising and romantic ways to propose and then watches as each secret plan unfolds and they pop the question, the network said. The series will be produced by Big Fish Entertainment.
In addition to the on-air series, which will premiere in 2012, GMC also will launch an online engagement destination featuring a celebrity hosted version of Engagement Story that will enable people to share their stories through video and social media. The online site also will launch in early 2012.
"Engagement Story is an ideal fit with our uplifting, family entertainment brand because engagements celebrate the very beginning of a family," said Brad Siegel, vice chairman of GMC in a statement. "A marriage proposal can easily be the biggest decision, and most elaborately planned event in a man's life. And, GMC viewers can expect their favorite music artists to help the men add a bit of song to their proposal."
