Golden Globes 2018: Elisabeth Moss Takes Award for Best Actress in a Drama

Elisabeth Moss won the Golden Globe Award for best actress in a drama category, the first of three female-led TV categories announced during the early part of the live ceremony.

Moss, who stars in Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale, beat out Outlander’s Caitriona Balfe, The Crown’s Claire Foy, The Deuce’s Maggie Gyllenhaal, and 13 Reasons Why’s Katherine Langford for the coveted statuette.

Nicole Kidman took home the first Golden Globes Award in the television category for her role in HBO’s Big Little Lies. Kidman won the best performance by an actress in a limited series or motion picture, beating out fellow Lies star Reese Witherspoon as well as Jessica Lange (Feud: Bette and Joan) and Jessica Biel (USA’s The Sinner).

Kidman adds a Golden Globe statuette to her Emmy Award for her role as Celeste Wright in the limited series.

Rachel Brosnahan, star of  Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, was the surprise winner in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Musical or Comedy Series, besting Better Things’ Pamela Adlon, GLOW’s Alison Brie, Insecure’s Issa Rae and SMILF’s Frankie Shaw.
