The Golf Channel will take a swing at the reality-competition genre with the
debut of its The Big Break series Oct. 7.
The 10-part series pits 10 unknown, scratch-performing golfers against each
other in a variety of skills challenges, network executives said. One golfer
will be eliminated each week, with the eventual contest winner receiving as a
prize the opportunity to compete in select, internationally televised
tournaments on the Canadian Tour.
Golf instructor Rick Smith, along with health-and-fitness guru Katherine
Roberts -- who has released several videos about golf and exercise -- will serve
as co-hosts for the skein.
