GolTV said Tuesday that it will air a special highlighting the work of Grassroot Soccer.
Grassroot Soccer is a foundation created in March 2002 by Ethan Zohn and Thomas Clark that lets soccer and its star players teach African children how to lead healthy lives, unaffected by AIDS.
Zohn was the winner of CBS reality show Survivor: Africa.
The network’s special “provides insight into the social, economic and cultural problems associated with AIDS and what it means to live in a society shaken by this epidemic,” Gol TV said.
GolTV will also contribute a share of its advertising proceeds toward the cause and call on its advertisers to participate.
“In Africa, soccer moves the masses, and star players are idols to children,” Zohn said in a prepared statement. “This is why there is no one better than GolTV to help us reach more people.”
