GolTV  Kicks Off La Liga Coverage This Weekend

Publish date:

With a resolution to a players' strike, GolTV will kick off its coverage of Spain's La Liga this Saturday.
The bilingual, soccer-centric service begins its HD coverage of the top futbol circuit with Valencia-Racing at 2 p.m. (ET) on Aug. 27. The following day Gol will present Real Madrid-Zaragoza and Seville-Malaga at 2 p.m and 4 p.m., respectively.
The strike, the first among soccer players in Spain in almost 30 years, delayed the start of the season, claiming games from La Liga and the second division last weekend.

"Spain's La Liga boasts several of the world's strongest soccer clubs and powerhouse players. GolTV has held the TV rights to La Liga since 2003, where the league consistently deliver strong ratings year-after-year" said Rodrigo Lombello, COO of GolTV in a statement. "We are happy to provide the ideal channel for soccer fans, where they can see the best matches played in every corner of the world"

Throughout the La Liga season, GolTV delivers match coverage of all 20 of La Liga's clubs, showcasing the talent of footballers such as Barcelona's Lionel Messi and David Villa; the World Cup Spanish team captain and Golden Glove award recipient Iker Casillas; and last season's top goal scorer, Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid. The network also captures the league from every angle with the match weekend preview show La Liga Report on Thursdays at 8 p.m. (ET), and the weekly match recap and highlight series La Liga 360 on Sundays at 9 p.m.

In addition to coverage of Spain's top league, GolTV features matches from action-packed tournaments and top international soccer leagues from Germany, Brazil, Colombia, Uruguay, Mexico's Liga de Ascenco and AC Milan, all in high-definition and premium sound.
