Gospel Music Channel has reached a new corporate carriage agreement with Knology Inc.

The deal, terms of which were not disclosed, will position Gospel on the overbuilder’s expanded-analog-basic lineups in such markets as Knoxville, Tenn. (channel 72), and Valley, Ala. (channel 98), beginning March 7.

Elsewhere, the network -- founded by former Discovery Networks U.S. executive Charles Humbard and ex-Turner Network Television veteran Brad Siegel -- appointed Barbara Bekkedahl as its director of national advertising sales.

A cable veteran, Bekkedahl’s resume includes entries from her tenure working at ABC Family Channel Worldwide, Comedy Central and, most recently, as senior vice president of sales for Channel One, the in-school news network reaching middle- and high-school students.
