Gospel Music Channel will launch new series Gospel Dream 2005 this fall.
The series will give performers from all over the United States and from all gospel styles -- including traditional and contemporary soul, pop, rock and rhythm-and-blues -- the chance to compete for a contract with a major record label.
Actor and comedian Jonathan Slocumb (The Steve Harvey Show) will host Gospel Dream 2005, and its national judges will be music writer Andy Argyrakis and Zomba Gospel president Max Siegel.
Ford Motor Co. will be the series’ leading sponsor and exclusive automotive advertiser, and its exclusive cosmetics sponsor will be Black Radiance.
"Gospel Dream offers these talented performers a chance to gain national recognition with fans around the country," Gospel Music CEO Charles Humbard said in a prepared statement. "This entertaining, inspirational series will connect with our viewers on many levels, and we look forward to having this show as an anchor to our fall-2005 primetime lineup."
