Grand Year for Grande


Grande Communications Inc. said Thursday that it nearly doubled its subscriber total compared with the first quarter of 2003.

The San Marcos, Texas-based overbuilder said it ended the first quarter of 2004 with 219,744 cable-television, telephone and broadband-Internet customers, versus 119,049 at the end of the year-earlier period.

The company said operating revenues for cable, telephone and broadband were $10.1 million, $13.1 million and $4.4 million, respectively, for the first quarter of 2004, compared with year-ago-period figures of $5.9 million, $4.7 million and $2 million, respectively.
