Comcast Media Center’s Ad Distribution Network is offering operators and programmers a way to green up their businesses by eliminating the hundreds of ad tapes that have been traditionally shipped to hundreds of local systems.
Millions of tapes are dubbed and shipped yearly, according to ADI. And in many cases, two versions are sent to the same office — one to be inserted and another for previewing by the local ad sales departments. In addition to the sheer volume of producing those tapes, there is also the cost and carbon emissions to ship them. ADN eliminates much of that waste by doing the job electronically. Ad executives can access ADN’s proprietary portal and grab both low and high resolution versions ad spots.
