GSN, Bank of America ‘Get Schooled’

GSN wants to “Get Schooled” for the third consecutive year.

The cable network and Bank of America Student Banking are teaming up on “Get Schooled 2005,” which will award $135,000 in college tuition to 11 winners across the United States, GSN said Monday.

American Idol finalist and Curb Records Inc. artist Kimberley Locke will host the vocabulary-based tour, which will be sponsored locally by Comcast Corp., Charter Communications Inc., Cablevision Systems Corp. and Time Warner Cable.

There will also be a national online component, the “Get Schooled Tour Sweepstakes,” in which eligible entrants will be randomly selected to win tuition money and other prizes.

Get Schooled 2005 kicks off in Albuquerque, N.M., March 5, and it will visit 11 cities over 11 weeks.

“We are thrilled to partner with Bank of America Student Banking, the premier provider of student loans, and our cable affiliates in this fun, pro-education event,” GSN senior vice president of marketing Dena Kaplan said in a prepared statement.
