GSN Hires 13 Ad Salespeople

Game Show Network senior vice president of ad sales Michael Sakin, hired last
December to form the network's first ad-sales team, has announced 13 new
hires.

Those additions range from account executives to vice presidents. Staffing up
at a time when others are cutting back, GSN also has hired 10 sales-support
staffers, a spokesman said.

Ad sales hitherto had been handled through parent Sony Pictures
Entertainment's Columbia TriStar Advertising Sales.

The best known of the new hires is vice president of Western/Southwestern ad
sales Sam Moser, who will be based in Dallas. Moser, until recently, was the New
York-based senior VP of ad sales for Nickelodeon.

In Manhattan, Sakin hired Frank Ciancio, former VP, Eastern region at USA
Networks Inc., as VP of Eastern ad sales; Melissa Zimmerman, most recently
regional affiliate-marketing manager at In Demand L.L.C., as director of
ad-sales marketing; Amy Leifer as director of direct-response/paid advertising
from a similar post at CTAS; and Tom Kralik as director of research from the
same post at E! Entertainment Television.

In Los Angeles, GSN named Mark Mintz director of ad sales. He had been an
account manager for The Weather Channel.
