Halllmark Nets Disney Movies

Hallmark Channel will air vintage Walt Disney Pictures titles as part of an
agreement reached Friday between the network and Buena Vista Television.

The deal, which runs through 2010, includes exclusive domestic cable rights
to air nearly 150 Disney titles, including Jungle 2 Jungle,
Flubber, Old Yeller, Mighty Joe Young, My Favorite
Martian
, The Absent-Minded Professor and Herbie the Love
Bug
.

Terms of the agreement were not released.

"This is a key acquisition in the evolution of our program schedule and is a
strong complement to existing programming the channel already schedules,"
Hallmark executive vice president of programming David Kenin said in a prepared
statement.

"These are big, quality and powerful movies with a youthful appeal," he
added. "These are well-known and loved movies that work well in our holiday
strategy."
