Hallmark Cuts Paramount Deal

Hallmark Channel cut a long-term programming deal with Paramount Domestic
Television, picking up rights to a number of films, comedies, dramas, Westerns
and series.

The package includes 30 titles from the popular Perry Mason
mystery-film series, which will serve as the backbone for the network's
yet-to-be-scheduled mystery-themed programming block, executive vice president
of programming David Kenin said.

Also included in the package are Western series such as Rawhide,
Gunslinger and Have Gun Will Travel. Kenin said they'll serve as
staples for the network's Western programming block, which could premiere as
soon as this summer.

Other shows in the package are comedy series Hogan's Heroes, The
Lucy Show
, Mork & Mindy and The Beverly Hillbillies.

The movies Hallmark acquired from Paramount will run in primetime, while the
series will appear in daytime or the early fringe period.
