Hallmark Receives Nielsen Gift With Original Movie

Hallmark Channel's closed its run of original holiday telefilms on a strong note with The Three Gifts.
Starring Dean Cain, Jean Louisa Kelly and Mimi Kennedy, The Three Gifts ranked as the top movie of the week of Dec. 14 through Dec. 20, with a 2.9 household rating, according to Nielsen data.
The performance helped Hallmark to rank eighth in all of basic cable during that span with a 1.4 average in primetime, its fifth best mark in network history, according to officials. That followed the channel's best week ever from Dec. 7 through Dec. 13, when it averaged a 1.0 rating in total day and a 1.8 in primetime.
The four Hallmark Channel original movie holiday premieres -- The National Tree, Debbie Macomber's Mrs. Miracle, Christmas in Canaan and The Three Gifts -- have ranked first in their Saturday 8 p.m.-10 p.m. (ET/PT) time slot with a 2.9 rating average and 2.57 million homes.
