Sunnyvale, Calif. -- Cable-equipment supplier Harmonic
Lightwaves Inc. reported last week that its fourth-quarter sales rose 56 percent, to $27.1
million, from $17.4 million in the same period a year ago.
Net income rose to $628,000 or 5 cents per share of stock,
from $580,000 (5 cents) a year ago. Domestic sales rose 87 percent and international sales
rose 28 percent, the company said.
Sales of Harmonic's "METROLink"
wave-division-multiplexing system to Tele-Communications Inc. and one other major domestic
MSO were up.
