Afghanistan-based former Cable News Network correspondent Steve Harrigan is
still reporting from there, but he works for Fox News Channel now.

FNC recruited Harrigan -- who had been working without a CNN contract since
May -- and signed him to a four-year deal, an FNC official said Monday.

He filed his first report as an FNC correspondent Sunday morning from Hodja
Bahaudeen in northern Afghanistan.

'Steve is an extremely well-respected foreign correspondent, and we're happy
to have him on board during this pivotal news period,' FNC CEO Roger Ailes said
in a prepared statement.

Harrigan worked as a correspondent for CNN since 1991. On Thursday, he filed
a report for CNN while traveling with the Northern Alliance in Afghanistan.

CNN said it sent reporter Matthew Chance to replace Harrigan in Afghanistan.
A spokesperson said the network has 12 staffers working there.

Harrigan's jump to FNC came just about one month after CNN recruited FNC
anchor Paula Zahn, leading FNC to sue Zahn's agent.
