Hasbro Studios and Discovery Enterprises International have struck series of in-flight entertainment deals with seven major U.S. and international airlines as part of an expansion into non-theatrical entertainment.
Hasbro-branded family programming that currently appears on The Hub, the kids' network co-owned by Hasbro and Discovery Communications, will be seen on Continental Airlines, Emirates Airlines, South African Airways, Singapore Airlines, Etihad Airways, Qantas and Thai Airways. Kids will be able to watch episodes of Transformers Prime on all of the carriers; G.I. Joe Renegades on Continental and Emirates; My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic on Continental, Singapore, Etihad, Qantas and Thai; and Pound Puppies on Continental and Qantas.
"This expansion into in-flight entertainment provides us with another significant domestic and international outlet for our family programming," Hasbro Studios president Stephen Davis said in a release. "We are very excited to be collaborating with DEI to provide some of the world's biggest airlines with acclaimed programming that resonates with kids and their families."
Elliot Wagner, director, program sales, Discovery Enterprises International, added: "This serves as a great opportunity for Discovery and Hasbro to reach more audiences around the world."
