HBO Cancels 'Hung,' 'How to Make It in America,' 'Bored to Death'

HBO has cancelled three of its comedy series, pulling the plug on Hung, How to Make It in America and Bored to Death.

Freshman series Enlightened, which last week was nominated for a Golden Globe for the series and star Laura Dern, was picked up for a second season.

The pay cable network is presumably clearing space for its several upcoming comedies, including the Lena Dunham created Girls and political comedy Veep, starring Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, which both premiere in April.

Gigolo series Hung and quirky detective show Bored to Death recently wrapped their third seasons, while the fashion world-centric How to Make It in America had just finished its second.
