HBO has left one of its therapy shows on the couch, electing not to proceed on a second session of Tell Me You Love Me.
Starring Jane Alexander as a sex therapist to three couples, the show, which launched last September, raised more eyebrows for its libido quotient than its Nielsen performance.
"Given the considerable amount of time that has passed and despite the best efforts of everyone involved, we were unable to find the direction of the show for the second season," Tell Me You Love Me creator/executive producer Cynthia Mort said in a statement. "There are so many other stories to tell and many other ways to tell them. I look forward to doing that with HBO in the future."
HBO, which recently renewed Gabriel Byrne psychiatrist series In Treatment for a second season, had given the okay for a sophomore season of Tell Me after running the four episodes last fall.
