HBO, ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Among WGA Award Winners

Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale scripted two Writers Guild Awards wins during last night’s ceremonies in New York and Los Angeles, the organization announced Sunday.

Hulu’s freshman drama picked up awards in the best Drama Series and best New Series categories --one of two shows to win multiple awards, including CBS’ 60 Minutes, according to the organization.

Hulu, HBO, NBC, CBS, and PBS also won multiple awards during the event, which was hosted byEmmy and Grammy-winning actor-writer-comedian Patton Oswalt (Happy!,) on the West Coast and Amber Ruffin (Late Night with Seth Meyers) on the East Coast, said WGA officials.
