HBO drew the most Screen Actors Guild Award nominations in the television category, while ABC’s Modern Family was the most nominated show, SAG announced during a Wednesday morning ceremony.

HBO garnered 14 SAG Award nominations, followed by ABC, Netfix and Showtime with five nods each.

HBO was led by three nods each for Boardwalk Empire, which finished its five season run in September, and Game of Thrones. Both shows will battle in the best drama ensemble category against PBS’ Downton Abbey, Showtime’s Homeland and Netflix’s House Of Cards.

Boardwalk Empire's Steve Buscemi will look to win in the best male drama performance category dominated by HBO series actors, including Game Of Thrones' Peter Dinklage and True Detective's Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey. Kevin Spacey (Netflix's House Of Cards) rounds out the category.

Notably missing in the drama categories was AMC’s Mad Men, which will end its run on the network in 2015.

ABC’s Modern Family led all shows with four nominations. The series will will vie for its fight straight SAG Award in the comedy ensemble category along with CBS’ Big Bang Theory, Fox’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black and HBO’s Veep.

Veep star Julie Louise Dryfus and Modern Family’s Ty Burrell will look to repeat as best comedy actress and actor respectively. Dryfus will go up against Uzo Aduba (Orange Is The New Black); Julie Bowen (Modern Family); Amy Poehler (Parks And Recreation) and Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie).

For Falco, her SAG Award nomination was a record 21st  for the former Sopranos star. She is a five-time SAG Award winner.

Burrell will contend with his Modern Family co-star Eric Stonestreet as  well as Louis CK (FX’s Louie); William H. Macy (Showtime’s Shameless); and Jim Parsons (CBS’ The Big Bang Theory).

Downton Abbey’s Maggie Smith, will also look to repeat last year's win in the best female drama performance against a field of six nominees that includes Claire Danes (Homeland); Viola Davis (How To Get Away With Murder); Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife); Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) and Robin Wright (House Of Cards).

Cable continued its domination of the television movie or miniseries categories, sweeping the nominees in the outstanding female actor category.  Ellen Burstyn (Lifetime’s Flowers in The Attic) Maggie Gyllenhaal (Sundance TV’s The Honerable Woman); HBO’s Olive Kitteridge); Julia Roberts (HBO’s The Normal Heart) and Cicely Tyson (Lifetime’s The Trip To Bountiful).
