HBO PPV Sets April Marquez/Rios Doubleheader Event

HBO Sports Saturday announced its third pay-per-view boxing telecast in as many months with an April 14 co-headline card featuring multi-belt champion Juan Manuel Marquez and undefeated former lightweight champion Brandon "Bam Bam" Rios.

Marquez will move up to junior welterweight to seek his fourth title in as many different weight divisions when he fights European boxing champion Sergey Fedchenko in Mexico City, according to the event's promoter Top Rank Inc. The second co-feature will pit Rios against interim lightweight champion Richard Abril for the vacant World Boxing Association lightweight title in Las Vegas.

The card will also feature a 10-round junior welterweight fight between Mike Alvarado and Mauricio Herrera, as well as undefeated Top-10 lightweight contender Mercito Gesta.

Suggested retail for the PPV event is $44.95, according to Top Rank.

The fight will precede HBO Sports' already announced May 5 Floyd Mayweather-Miguel Cotto event and the June 9 Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley Jr. bout, according to the network.
