HBO Rolls Out Oracle Financial System

HBO has implemented Oracle's financial and operations support system, which will be used by 1,000 employees across the company.

The Time Warner Inc.-owned premium programmer is using the Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 for project accounting, managing accounts payable and receivable, financial reporting and other functions. In addition, HBO is using Oracle's self-service applications to let employees manage invoices and enter information online to streamline workflow.

"We had two basic requirements -- the need for an integrated, scalable solution and a system that would be able to carry us forward into the future," said HBO vice president of finance operations and reporting Marie Mahony in a statement. "The Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 not only helps us meet our goals, but serves as a platform to support financial and operational growth."

HBO is currently using the following modules of the Oracle E-Business Suite: general ledger, subledger accounting, payables, receivables, assets, iProcurement, discoverer, project costing and billing, inventory and order management.
