Home Box Office said Wednesday that it would premiere the first two episodes
of its original Band of Brothers miniseries at a special D-Day
anniversary event in Normandy, France.
In partnership with American Airlines Inc., HBO plans to charter a jet to fly
World War II veterans from the U.S. Army's Easy Company to attend the June 6
premiere.
Hollywood giants Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg are executive producers of
the 10-part miniseries, set to premiere on the premium network -- as well as on
international channels such as the British Broadcasting Corp. and France 2 --
Sept. 9.
HBO will screen the Normandy premiere in high-definition on the grounds of
Utah Beach Memorial.
