HBO Suspense Series Epitafios Set For Dual Network Debuts

Detectives Renzo Marquez and Marina Segal will track another killer when the second season of Epitafios returns to HBO Latino and HBO2.
The 13-episode second season, starring Julio Chavez as Marquez and Cecilia Roth as Segal, is set to bow in Spanish on HBO Latino on Sept. 18 at 10 p.m., with the subsequent episodes scheduled for that Friday night timeslot.
HBO2 will present the series, written by twin brothers Walter and Marcelo Slavich, Tuesdays at 11 p.m., beginning Sept. 22, in Spanish, with English subtitles.
Epitafios will also be available on HBO On Demand in Spanish with English subtitles.
Filmed in Buenos Aires, the second season finds the detectives on the trail of a killer who replicates previous slayings as if they were works of art, capturing the crimes for posterity in photo sequences.
A suspense story inside a love story, the show made its TV premiere on HBO Latin America in 2004. Also filmed in Buenos Aires, the rookie run followed the cat-and-mouse game between a morose police detective (Chávez) looking for a reason to live and a psychotic serial killer bent on revenge. The first season marked HBO Latin America's first fictional dramatic series written and filmed in Latin America, by Latin Americans, and for the Latin American audience.
Epitafios then migrated north, making its U.S. premiere on HBO Latino in 2005, followed by its HBO Signature debut in 2006.
