HBO Friday will air live the official weigh-in event for the Nov. 12 Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez pay-per-view fight.
The 6 p.m. live telecast, hosted by HBO boxing commentator Jim Lampley, will mark the first time the pay Tv service has aired a figher weigh-in event for a major boxing event. In addition, boxing fans can click on insidehboboxing.com to watch live coverage of the weigh-in program, which will also feature HBO boxing commentators Max Kellerman, Emanuel Steward,
Harold Lederman and featured guests, the network said.
PPV content aggregator In Demand will also offer Pacquiao-Marquez weigh-in footage free to cable subscribers via on demand beginning Nov. 12.
The weigh-in program is part of a major on-air build-up to Saturday's PPV event. Later Friday evening, the network will air the fourth and final installment of its 24/7 Pacquiao-Marquez documentary series. In addition, HBO sister service CNN will feature a Piers Morgann interview with Pacquiao as part of its primetime Piers Morgan Tonight series, the network said.
Also, the HBO Zone multiplex network will offer a six-hour block of programming surrounding the Pacquiao-Marquez
fight, including replays of the 24/7 series as well as a one-hour Fight Day Now! show from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas that will give fans all the latest news and insights as the main
event approaches, network officials said.
In Demand will offer viewers a half-hour preview show in Spanish and English via free on demand. The network will also offer a free, two-hour countdown show preceding the 9 p.m. PPV telecast, which will include interviews and behind-the-scenes footage of both fighters.
