Home Box Office is offering operators free-video-on-demand programming and promotion to help support its June 25 Arturo Gatti-Floyd Mayweather pay-per-view fight.
Distributors will have access to a 30-minute preview show for the $44.95 card, as well as a cross-channel spot to promote the operator’s FVOD programming, HBO PPV vice president and general manager Tammy Ross said. HBO2 will also telecast the show throughout the week.
In the past, such shows were syndicated to local networks or offered to operators to run on barker channels.
Operators running the show will get credit for one of three marketing tactics necessary to generate a 45% split of the fight’s PPV revenue.
