HDNet said Thursday that it would air the first high-definition-television
reports from a war zone.
In partnership with Broadcast News Networks, Peter Arnett will provide
coverage from Afghanistan and Pakistan of the war on terrorism.
The initial half-hour report will air Friday (Jan. 11) on HDNet, which is
available to DirecTV Inc. subscribers who have HDTV sets, as well as compatible
satellite receivers and dishes.
'As radio was able to do in World War II or television during the Vietnam
era, our HDTV coverage will set a new standard for immersing the audience in
pictures and stories that increasingly convey to viewers the raw, visceral
