HDNet Lands Insight Carriage Deal


Insight Communications Co. Inc. became the second major MSO to tap into
HDNet, announcing that it has launched the cable network’s two channels on its
HD service.

Insight has added HDNet and HDNet Movies on its $7.95 monthly "HD Pak" tier
offered in Louisville, Ky.; Evansville, Ind.; and Peoria, Ill.

It plans to roll out the services to the remainder of its HD markets,
including Champaign/Urbana, Ill.; Galesburg and Bloomington/Normal, Ill.;
Springfield, Lincoln and Decatur, Ill.; Anderson/Noblesville, Ind.; Bloomington,
Ind.; Lafayette/Kokomo, Ind.; Covington, Ky.; Lexington, Ky.; and Columbus,

"As we roll out our HDTV service, the HDNet networks are a natural fit in our
lineup," Insight vice president of programming Terry Denson said. "With the
continued delivery of our commitment to deploy HDTV, we feel that the content of
these networks enhances and adds value to our HDTV offerings."

HDNet has already nailed down carriage deals with Charter Communications
Inc., as well as direct-broadcast satellite providers DirecTV Inc. and EchoStar
Communications Corp.

HDNet offers around-the-clock high-definition programming ranging from news
and original content to stock TV shows, all presented in 1080i (interlaced)

HDMovies offers a lineup of films from the likes of Warner Bros., New Line
Cinema, Paramount Pictures, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc., Buena Vista Pictures,
Lions Gate Entertainment, Artisan Entertainment and Sony
