Sunday’s season finale of HGTV Design Star garnered Home & Garden Television’s highest-ever primetime rating among households with a 2.5, a 159% increase over the premiere episode, officials said Tuesday.
The episode also delivered the highest-ever primetime rating among key demographics, including 25-54 year olds with a 1.7 rating and 18-49 year-olds with a 1.3 rating.
And the finale was the No. 1 primetime program in ad-supported cable among 25- to 54-year-olds with a 1.7 rating.
Since the show's premiere July 23, all airings of HGTV Design Star have been sampled by more than 24 million viewers. In addition, according to Omniture, the show generated nearly 7.5 million page views on the network’s Web site (www.hgtv.com) since its premiere.
