Leo J. Hindery Jr.'s Yankees Entertainment & Sports Network enlisted the
help of two New York Democrats in hopes of pressuring Cablevision Systems Corp.
to carry the cable home of Major League Baseball's New York Yankees.
Assemblyman Peter Rivera and Senate Democratic Leader David Paterson derided
Cablevision in statements that were sent to the press, calling on the MSO to cut
a deal with YES.
"Millions of New Yorkers are unable to watch televised Yankee games due to
Cablevision's unwillingness to negotiate a fair financial deal that brings with
it a small degree of competition," Rivera said.
