The History Channel is suiting up with the National Basketball Association.

The network will help the league to celebrate its past with a series of retro games and multimedia programming as part of the NBA’s "Hardwood Classics" program, NBA commissioner David Stern and History executive vice president and general manager Dan Davids announced Wednesday at the NBA Store in New York.

As part of the multiyear deal between the two parties, two NBA-produced one-hour documentaries will air on History. The network will also have a prominent presence in NBA TV programming, NBA Hardwood Classics merchandise, NBA.com’s (www.nba.com) "History" section and select "Hardwood Classics Nights" games -- a series of retro games conducted by NBA teams that celebrates their past players, teams and prominent anniversaries.
