History Channel International will air its new "Military History" block Saturdays and Sundays from 8 p.m.-midnight (EST) starting next month, the network said Monday.

The block "will include documentary specials and series on international historical topics, from the history of warfare in general to specific wars and battles to the life of a solder," the network said in a prepared statement.

"Military history has always been a cornerstone of the programming of both The History Channel and History International," History executive vice president and general manager Dan Davids said in a prepared statement. "This new Military History block will provide viewers with a targeted destination for this type of programming."
