History will pop into the Times Square retail arena next Monday.
The network will open History Pop Shop at 1501 Broadway on Dec. 6, showcasing exclusive merchandise from a pair of its top series, Pawn Stars and American Pickers, while also proffering in-store interactive elements to connect with fans and shoppers.
Pawn Stars's Rick Harrison and American Pickers' Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz will attend the grand opening event on Dec. 6 to greet fans and sign autographs at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.
In addition to selling network, Pawn Stars and American Pickers branded merchandise, History Pop Shop will aspire to engage visitors on a daily basis through Dec. 31 via the"History Pop Shop Daily Find," wherein the outlet will highlight and give away one special item. Visitors can enter to win on-site, and one winner will be selected each day. Shoppers will also be entered into a grand prize drawing.
There will also be a Pawn Stars/American Pickers virtual game, in which visitors, through a in-store touch-screen monitors, guess the price of an item or guess whether a deal was made based on items featured in episodes of the series.
"History is thrilled to offer this multi-dimensional holiday experience in one of the world's most popular holiday locations, Times Square in New York City," said AETN Enterprises executive vice president Steve Ronson in a statement. "From our unique shop, daily giveaways and custom virtual game, we are confident that this inspiring holiday experience which was created as a ‘thank you' to our fans will provide visitors the opportunity to connect with two of our network's top shows."
The store will be open weekdays Dec. 6-19 from noon to 8 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Starting Dec. 20, it will operate from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. One Christmas Eve, the store will be open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on New Years Eve from 10 a.m. to -4 p.m.. The outlet will be closed on Christmas.
Beginning Dec. 6, History will premiere new episodes of American Pickers at 9 p.m. and Pawn Stars and hour later.
