History’s ‘Ice Road’ Burns Up Ratings


History’s second-season premiere of Ice Road Truckers Sunday drew nearly 4 million viewers and averaged a 2.7 rating, marking the best-ever season launch of a series on the network, officials said Monday.

Ice Road Truckers’ debut this season had: 3.9 million viewers, up 15% versus its Season One debut (3.4 million) and up 22% versus its season average (3.2 million);  2.3 million adults 25-54, up 15% versus the Season One debut (2 million) and season average (2 million); and 2.3 million adults 18-49, up 28% versus the Season One debut (1.8 million) and season average (1.8 million)

The season finale of Ax Men finished out the season of the new hit series with 2.4 million viewers, up 26% versus the season average to date, and increases in all other key demos.
