History Series Delivers Older Male Audience

While ESPN was drawing the young male audience with its Playmakers
series, The History Channel's Sept. 9 premiere of Tactical to Practical
during the same 9 p.m. time slot was helping History to improve its adult-male
25-54 numbers.

The series -- which explores innovations developed for combat that have
evolved into useful tools for civilian life -- drew 573,000 viewers within the
demographic, up 77% from the network's average primetime delivery, network
executives said.

Overall, the show averaged a 1.3 household rating, up 44% over the network's
primetime average.
