DirecTV Inc. has reached a multiyear marketing agreement with the nation's largest homebuilder, D.R. Horton Inc.
Under terms of the deal, DirecTV will showcase its direct-broadcast satellite services in selected D.R. Horton model homes, showrooms and design centers for new home buyers across the country.
The DBS provider will also be one of the featured products of D.R. Horton's “Home Basics and Beyond Program.”
Homebuyers will have the option to purchase a "DirecTV-ready" home from D.R. Horton.
"Our new marketing relationship with D.R. Horton provides DirecTV with the opportunity to market directly to those consumers who are buying a new home and making the initial decision about their television and entertainment services," DirecTV vice president of sales development and strategy Daren Benz said in a prepared statement.
"The message to the home buyer is this: Your new D.R. Horton home has the best of everything, including the best television-entertainment experience via DirecTV,” he added. “Just move in, pick up your remote and you immediately have access to more than 225 digital-quality channels on your home-theater system."
D.R. Horton VP and director of national accounts Ric Rojas added, “We believe a DirecTV-ready home will resonate with our customers as a desirable amenity and play a role in their home-buying decision.”
