Hot August for Scripps

August was good for E.W. Scripps Co., which said consolidated revenues jumped
11 percent from August 2001, to $126 million.

Revenue at its Scripps Networks division -- which includes Home & Garden
Television, Food Network, Do It Yourself and Fine Living -- jumped 25 percent to
$32.8 million.

Ad revenue at the division jumped 23 percent to $25.3 million, and
affiliate-fee revenue jumped 36 percent to $7.1 million.
