Hotline Rings Up Lifetime

Lifetime Television will receive the “Media for Change Vital Link Award” from the National Domestic Violence Hotline at a ceremony Tuesday night.

The network is being recognized for its Emmy Award-winning public-awareness campaign, “Our Lifetime Commitment: Stop Violence Against Women.”

Also set to be honored at the ceremony, being held at NASDAQ headquarters in Times Square: Sen. Joseph R. Biden (D-Del.), Mariska Hargitay of NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Target Brands Inc.

“Lifetime and its affiliates are the model media and advocacy partners in this effort, utilizing their immense ability to reach and inform women and men across the nation to save lives, heighten public awareness on the tragedy of domestic violence and connect survivors of domestic violence to resources for help,” NDVH executive director Sheryl Cates said in a prepared statement.
