Andy Friendly has been named president of the Hollywood Radio and Television Society.
Friendly, who succeeds former HRTS president Jordan Levin, is currently CEO of Andy Friendly Productions.
His extensive television experience includes serving as network executive producer and vice president of primetime programs and program development for CNBC from 1990-95, where he added personalities such as Geraldo Rivera, Charles Grodin, Tim Russert, Tom Snyder and many others to the network’s primetime lineup.
Other board executives named by the HRTS: VP Andrea Wong, senior VP, alternative series and specials, ABC Entertainment; secretary Sue Naegle, partner, department dead, United Talent Agency; and treasurer Chris Silbermann, partner, Broder Webb Chervin Silbermann Agency.
New HRTS board members elected to three-year terms: Jon Hookstratten, executive VP, administration and operation, NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution; and Jeff Shell, CEO, Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc.
