HSN Uses Rentrak To Analyze Live TV Viewing

HSN has signed a deal with Rentrak's linear TV measurement service.

The home-shopping channel will use Rentrak's TV Essentials to analyze viewing habits of its own viewers, as well as determine how an audience "flows" from competing networks.

"In addition to providing the most comprehensive television data available, the TV Essentials service will help us to sync our programming with consumer purchase patterns in order for HSN to remain a leading merchandise network," said Bill Brand, HSN executive vice president of programming, marketing and business development.

Rentrak's TV Essentials service processes data from more than 10 million set-top boxes through deals with Charter Communications,  AT&T and Dish Network.
