The Hub has named more than a dozen more series that will be on tap when the kids' channel launches in 60 million homes on Oct. 10.
The channel, co-owned by Discovery Communications and toymaker Hasbro, has five Hasbro Studios shows in the mix, including two that were previously announced, Transformers Prime and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
The newly announced Hasbro shows are live-action game show Family Game Night, animated G.I. Joe Renegades and Pound Puppies, about a team of fearless dogs finding homes for puppies in need.
The Hub will take over the channel slot now held by Discovery Kids. No Discovery Kids holdovers are in the new list, described as a partial roster of the network's lineup.
Six new originals are in the lineup overall. Others are animated Dan Vs., from Starz-owned Film Roman in association with The Hatchery; R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour, a live-action children's anthology series from The Hatchery; and The 99, about a troupe of comic-book superheroes who work together to promote peace and justice (Teshkeel Media & Endemol Digital UK Production Group).
Making U.S. premieres are action-adventure series Animal Mechanicals (DHX Media's Halifax Film); CGI animated Cosmic Quantum Ray (Moonscoop Entertainment) and The WotWots, a pre-school series about two soft, puppet-like aliens - a brother and sister - who come to explore planet Earth in their steam powered spaceship and land in a local zoo (Pukeko Pictures).
Also new to the U.S. via The Hub are Deltora Quest, from the children's book series written by Emily Rodda
( Dentsu), and three series wholly or co-produced American Greetings Properties: Maryoku Yummy, Twisted Whisker and new animated adventures of Strawberry Shortcake.
Fraggle Rock, the classic Jim Henson Co. series, and Animal Planet hit Meerkat Manor, about families of meerkats in the Kalahari Desert (Oxford Scientific Films), also will make small-screen returns on The Hub.
