Hulu has renewed its documentary series Behind The Mask for a sophomore campaign, the online content distributor announced Wednesday.
The series, which profiles the lives of people who serve as sports mascots, has received a 10-episode order for a second season and is slated to premiere on Hulu and Hulu Plus in 2014., according to company officials. The second season of Behind the Mask will be directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Josh Greenbaum (The Short Game).
“We are very much looking forward to working with Josh and Occupant on another season of Behind the Mask,” said Charlotte Koh, head of development, Hulu Originals in a statement. “Josh’s perceptive and empathetic storytelling is insightful and entertaining. He turns the mascots into everyday superheroes who we can all relate to and root for.”
