Hulu Re-Ups 'Casual'

OTT streaming service Hulu has greenlit a second season of its comedy series Casual, weeks after the show's premiere on the service.

The series, which launched Oct. 7 and follows the story of a dysfunctional bachelor brother and his newly divorced sister raising a teenager, has been picked up for a second season with a 13-episode order, said the network. Casual creator and executive producer Zander Lehmann will return for the show's sophomore campaign along with executive producers Jason Reitman (Juno, Up in the Air), Helen Estabrook and Liz Tigelaar.

“Casual really struck a chord,” said Craig Erwich, senior vice president and Head of Content for Hulu. “We couldn’t be prouder of the quality, and we’re thrilled to see it be recognized for the success that it is.”
