The Independent Film Channel Tuesday announced a major 21-film licensing deal with independent studio Lions Gate Films.
The agreement follows on the heels of a 20-film deal between the two companies announced earlier in the year, according to IFC executives.
Of the 21 films in the new deal, 10 will make their no-pay-network premieres on IFC.
Movies in the new package include Monster’s Ball, Shattered Glass, Wonderland, Girl with a Pearl Earring and The Cooler.
"This latest agreement with Lion’s Gate Films further strengthens our film library with powerful titles and television premieres and provides some of the best independent filmmakers with a true voice," IFC general manager and executive vice president Ed Carroll said in a prepared statement.
"Our aggressive programming moves for 2004 and beyond will reinforce IFC’s standing as the leader in providing the very best of independent film," he added.
